Sadly the UK is becoming more and more litigious and as wedding photographers, there are several issues that we need to be clear on. So we have invited Scott Gair to return for another one of his super informative talks. Scott was one of the surprise hits of last year’s Farm Week and is a very charming speaker. (He even brought us all sweets!) Although the topics are complicated, he manages to break it all down so you will leave armed with some knowledge that could just save any tricky situations for your business.
Scott Gair is a man with a number of strings to his bow and a receding hairline (although that is easily rectified with Photoshop!). Scott is an Associate Solicitor at Mayo Wynne Baxter LLP, and acts for a number of professional photographers and picture agencies dealing with a wide range of legal issues. Scott also writes a monthly column for Photo Professional magazine.
When Scott is not pushing pens around his desk at work he undertakes professional photography work with an emphasis on sports photography. Scott’s photography and legal experience means that he is able to offer practical legal advice which is relevant to the individual needs of photographers.
Scott will take us through a variety of legal aspects that photographers need to consider in relation to wedding photography. He will discuss wedding contracts, copyright ownership, joint copyright, photographing children, risk management and how to manage complaints. There will be an open Q & A session at the end where you can raise any concerns you have as a new or established photographer. The price includes a sample contract for weddings photographers. 2-5pm Thursday 30th January 2014 at Photography Farm. £75 per person
