Photography Farm is a unique residential workshop held over two and a half days on a stunning 12 acre farm near Gatwick. We set up beautifully styled shoots, show you post production and workflow techniques, cover business, branding & marketing all in elegant but relaxed surroundings. You will each have your own room at the Farm and we have an excellent chef and house keeper. The emphasis is on you and what you need. Our aim is to really get to know you and your business, then work on the the areas that you need help with the most. This is why we only offer a limited number of places.
The next Photography Farm is 9 ~11th of September and we would love to have you join us for this unique experience. We are more than thrilled that Adobe expert Tigz Rice is joining us as our special guest. The focus at the full Photography Farm is always on your individual businesses and circumstances. It is an intense but liberating few days.
Day One ~ After being shown to your room, we start with informal introductions and look at how we all currently shoot and find inspiration. Lisa will show you techniques that really work for her when it comes to photographing couples on or away from the wedding day. After lunch we go out to a beautifully styled shoot with a real couple in the Farm’s grounds so Lisa can show you the techniques in action. You will then have some time to work in pairs to directing and shooting the couple in this inspirational environment.
Day Two ~ Starts with Workflow and Post Production and looking at our images from the first day. Tigz will show you a full and efficient workflow in Lightroom and how to refine your images in Photoshop. We will be aiming to take the mystery out of processing your images, setting up the best workflow for you and your computer, including preparing images for both print and blogging and creating an archive. There will be time for you to upload some of your own images to have a play with them and get advice from Tigz. Then it’s time for BUSINESS SCHOOL. Lisa will start with a discussion on branding, how you can create an engaging one and how to carry it across all that you do. Lisa finishes up the day by talking all things marketing and helps you discover new ways to promote your services and progress your business. We will also cover SEO techniques that really work and how to apply those right from the get go. After Business School we will have a celebration dinner with a chance to dress up and mingle. When you are not busy with all of this, you are free to take a dip in the heated pool or kick back in the hot tub.
Day Three ~ In the morning you will have one-to-one sessions with Lisa to review everything that you have learnt over the time with us and to create an action plan for what you do next. Then Tigz will give your current brand and/or website an individual appraisal before you leave armed with your action plan, goody bags full of industry swag and some new BFFs.
Photography Farm is a truly unique photography workshop. By shooting, learning and staying together in this intensely creative place, you will learn a great deal about the industry and yourself. Even when you leave, the support continues in a very active private Facebook group and with monthly google hangouts on topics that we are all concerned with. Watch the Photography Farm movie here.
How do I sign up? This workshop costs £950 including accommodation in the 15th Century Farmhouse and catering by a private chef.
